Toby Bowen I had 48 hours booked away from work so I headed over my Essex syndicate. The weather was currently in single figures but was due to change over the session. On arrival the lake was empty, so I hopped into a swim I've done well in previous sessions. knowing the spots at range I opted to put two on one spot and the 3rd as a roaming rod if they start showing else where using solid bags. I managed to land four nice mirrors all over 25lb on the baited spot with both rods having gone the session was off to a good start. Just before dark I had a take on the left hand rod and immediately this felt different, this carp was taking line on a tight clutch at range. The battle was epic and after like 10-15min I landed this huge carp tipping the scales @ 40.5lb and a new UK PB. My first 40 pounder and will always remember the moment. Amazing
