About Rob Marsh
Rob has been on the big carp scene since the late 80’s fishing challenging waters all over the world. Rob was the first English angler to catch 50lb+ carp from 3 different countries and has caught an astonishing amount of big carp at home as well as abroad.
For the last 10 years Rob has been involved in the carp match fishing scene and Rob is captain of one of the most successful teams ever in BCAC history and with Kev selects our Mainline teams every year. Teaming up with Lee Merritt some 8 years ago. The pair have fished for England and have been very successful with podium places as far a field as America! At home they have won the British Carp Angling Team Championships no less than 5 times and are 2nd and 3rd in the BCAC rankings in the UK.

The bait was the Grange and within a couple of sessions it soon became apparent that this bait was special and there was nothing on the market to match its success. Everywhere we used it we just kept on catching, with our catch ratio twice or maybe even three times higher than with any other baits we had used in the past and with any baiting campaign it soon became apparent that any other bait’s just did not seem to work. If you were not using the Grange you were on a loser. Three seasons later and the bait was still working but Mainline had taken the market by storm and with a full range of dips, pellets and new mixes the Mainline brand was on everybody’s lips.
Steve & Kev have kept on coming up with the goods year in year out. I have used every bait they have brought out and they are all to the same high standards of the original Grange. I have caught a huge amount of thirty’s, forty’s, fifty’s and even sixty’s over the many years I have been involved with Mainline. With this in mind I often get asked what’s my favourite bait? I simply say any Mainline boilie, they are all excellent carp catchers and I would not use anything else. Mainline over the years have built up a large range of excellent products and are always striving to stay ahead of their competitors. I am in no doubt they are simply the best baits out on the market and I would not use anything else.

I have written for most carp magazines for over 20 years including Carp Fisher, Crafty Carper, Carpworld, International Carper, Carptalk and Course & Carp magazines. Recently been involved in ‘On the Bank Features’ with Total Carp and Carp TV as well as Crafty Carper carpology and Maxium carp. Also wrote a chapter in Tim Paisly’s Memories of Carp and a chapter in the New British carp study group book.Also have been involved in several Freespirit DVD’s. Also have featured on several different television programmes on Sky and on the Jonny Vaughn Show on BBC1.
