We’re going to use a Nutty Hemp Clone for this rig.
Start by cutting away around 30cm of soft coated braid.
Strip away about 10cm of the coating to expose the soft braid.
Tie a simple Hair Loop in the soft braid section like this next.
Now using a baiting needle thread the hookbait onto the Hair.
Secure the Clone Wafter in place using a Hair stop like so.
Next cut away a short 4mm section of 1.5mm silicone tubing.
Thread the short piece of silicone tubing onto the hooklink.
Now take a size 6 Kurv Shank hook ready for the next step.
Carefully thread the hook through the silicone tubing like this.
Secure with a Knotless-Knot with the Hair exiting opposite the barb.
Slide a medium Kicker down the hooklink and over/onto the hook.
Wrap some leadcore wire around the hooklink 4cm from the hook.
You’ll need some Dark Matter Putty for the next step.
Place a small piece of putty like this onto the wire wrap.
Mould the putty like so – the putty weight helps the hook flip.
Next, slide an Anti Tangle Sleeve onto the hooklink like so.
Tie a Figure-Of-Eight-Loop-Knot at the end of the hooklink.
Slide the Anti Tangle Sleeve back over the knot like this.
The Simple Wafter Rig is now complete and ready to go!
It will turn quickly to a good hooking angle for strong hookholds.
HOW TO TIE THE SIMPLE WAFTER RIG
Fishing wafters and tying up effective rigs for these hookbaits may seem tricky or complicated, but it really doesn’t need to be difficult.
