Abbey Lakes Haul For Mick Tuck! 2nd May, 2014

Mainline carper, Mick Tuck joined a few of the chaps for a trip to Abbey Lakes recently and was not disappointed with his results! Over to Mick to take up the story:

"After coming out quite late in the draw on Heron Lake, I opted for a swim that had not produced a bite for 11 days. The initial approach taken was a delicate one, not wanting to scare any resident fish.

My first bite came within a few hours from an area to my left with a light scattering of Cell - around 15-200 baits spread with the throwing stick, with an Essential I.B. pop-up fished over the top. 

A solitary bleep followed by a powerful run was then followed a dogged scrap and my first fish was in the net: 50lb 12oz!

This was followed with a 48lb 2oz fish taken on a Hybrid Dumbell Hooker topped with a Cell Wafter. A 34lb 8oz fish and four twenties then followed - all taken on the Cell Wafters fished over no more than a kilo of mixed Cell and Hybrid boilies."
