Fresh off the back of one result, Mainline consultant Jim wilson, has been in touch again with another superb catch report! Over to Jim to take up the story:
"Following the success of my last trip, I was keen to get back to the lake with some decent conditions forecast. So I set the alarm for the early hours to make the two hour drive to the lake and arrive for first light. On arriving I headed straight for the windward bank and a spot that gives access to some shallower margin areas that the pits residents love to visit when the weather starts improving. Within half an hour or so, I had seen three or four shows that convinced me to give the area a go, and I set about getting sorted. For this trip I was armed with the new Hybrid bait, and had the zig kit in the carryall, a couple of shows had been over deep water so I opted for zigs with the foam hookbait dipped in Cell Activator on a couple of rods and the other rod was a Hybrid/Milky Toffee snowman fished over a hundred or so, whole and chopped Hybrid boilies in 10ft or so of water.
Within a couple of hours one of the zig rods rattled off a resulted in an upper double Common, a fantastic start, and only a few hours later the rod fished with the Hybrid melted off, immediately it felt like a better fish and after a real battle under the tip I netted an awesome common, which weighed in at 32lb! The following morning the same rod was away again resulting in another common of 21lb. First time on the Hybrid and what a start!"
