NEW GRANGE Success For Cornish Carper!

Mainline Consultant, John Kneebone has been in touch recently following a great start to his season on a difficult Oxfordshire gravel pit! The Cornish carper has been making the long journey from the south west to his target venue since the end of March and has landed four carp so far this season from the low stock, 50acre pit, three of which over the 30lbs. John told us:

"This is my 3rd season on this water where I have used NEW GRANGE boilies from the beginning and eventhough I'm having to compete with vast amounts of natural food the pit holds, the carp are proper on the bait. Its helping massively as there's only 70-80 carp, often showing at extreme range and the fishing in general is challenging to say the least! Because it can be so difficult to get your rods into position at times, I will not re-cast daily but leave my rigs out for 2-3 days at a time unless there is an occurance or take. This requires great confindence in your hookbaits, and I have total, 100% confindence in the pop-ups from Mainline Baits. My favoured hookbait at the moment is the 15mm Milky Toffee pop-ups, a great flavour but also a white coloured bait that looks to the carp like a washed out, safe bait. I've found these Milky Toffees to fish really well in conjuntion with any of the food source baits I've used from Mainline. They're loving' em fished over the NEW GRANGE at the mo, with four fish coming to this approach so far, a mid double, a 31lb mirror, a 30lb known as Nemo that absolutely trashed me during the fight and a last light 32lb common from my last trip. Hopefully I'll be looking at one the real biggies in the net soon!"
