Park Lake Success!

Between match events, work and angling tutorials, Mainline consultant Rob Marsh, has somehow been managing to fit in some quick overnighters on a busy park lake. So it was no surprise when the consistant carper recently contacted us with news of a short session success! Rob takes up the story: "I returned to the park lake for a quick overnighter, the lake was fairly busy, but luckily the swim I’d had my last two fish from was free, so I was more than confident to do the night back in this swim. The rods were still clipped up from my previous visit including my spod rod, which was a real bonus as it was getting dark and starting to rain.

Twenty spombs were quickly despatched to my spot and I placed two hook-baits bang on the mark. My spod mix consisted of Hinders Salamiz hemp and New Grange boilies from Mainline, some whole and some chopped.

Around 1am I started to receive a few liners, but then caught 3 bream on the bounce, so I decided to spod 6 more spombs onto the spot and get my head back down for the night. At 6am I received a very fast take and after a very long battle I landed a cracking linear!

I was just sorting the mat and scales when my other rod was away and after another real scrap I slid the net under another cracking mirror! The mirrors weighed 23lb 1oz and 33lb 8oz! With the photos and some video done, it was time to quickly pack down and get off to work, one very happy man!”

By finding time to fit these short sessions into a busy schedule, Rob certainly proves the point that effort equals reward.
