Buisness as usual for Oconnors! 28th August, 2011

Surrey based Mainline consultants, Ben and Barry Oconnor have been in touch with news of yet another successful summer. Fishing a busy schedule of match events the carp hauling duo have been consistent throughout, but amazingly have also managed to squeeze in a number big-fish results at their syndicate waters. Barry told us: 

“We fished a hotly contested BCAC qualifier at Farlows and got through to the semi final at Barston. With so many good anglers taking part this stage of the competition is always very tough but we got through and are now looking forward to the final being held at Broadlands in September.

As well as fishing our BCAC qualifiers we’ve taken part in some other match events, winning ‘The Midlands Carp Masters’ held Barston lakes and having come out of the draw last, managed to win another comp at Farlows. Ben has also got through to the final of ‘The UK Carp Cup’ to be held on Brasenose1 at Linear fisheries in October.

Between all of this we’ve still managed to do some of our own fishing, targeting larger carp at Cottington Lakes and Fryerning Lakes where we have had some nice thirties. A Cell caught 39lb mirror a partical highlight for Ben at Cottington, with Cell doing the business again over at Fryerning.”
