Giant tops a list of big fish captures from Gigantica 11th August, 2011

We recently received news from Gigantica, France that the large mirror known as 'The Giant' has been caught at a massive 80lbs 5ozs! Setting a new lake record thats sure to continue growing along with the other monster carp of Gigantica.

The lucky angler was Hermen Jonker from Oldebroek, Holland, who baited a clear area behind weed with New Grange boilies before casting a matching New Grange, boilie hookbait tipped with plastic corn to the spot. Later that night the Dutchman set the new Gigantica lake-record when he landed a huge mirror carp, 'The Giant' at a whopping 80lbs 5ozs!   

Fishery manager, Danny Turley, who was on hand with his Reuben Heaton scales to verify the big mirror's record weight, told us;

'When Danny Fairbrass purchased the lake, there was a small album of fish pictures. One was the Giant and if I remember rightly it was a mid 30 in 2006. Its steadily grown, with pictures tracking its weight over the years with known captures at 40, 50 and 60lbs before Danny took over the lake and the fish continued to grow to over 70lbs!
Since that time it has grown steadily at 2-3lbs per year. The fish is clearly a male, in excellent condition with a perfect mouth, so fingers crossed, will continue to grow.'

'The Giant' tops a huge a list of recent big fish captures from Gigantica caught using Mainline Baits. 'Split Pec' at 59.10, 'Duscus' at 56,08, the 64lb 'German Fish' and the mirror known as 'Drop-tail' at a collosul 68lbs! Are just a few of the large Gigantica carp that couldn't resist our Cell or New Grange freezer bait boilies that are available to buy on site.
