RAF Carp Team On The Up! 30th October, 2012

We are always pleased to hear from the Mainline backed RAF Carp Team who look like they've been enjoying some good results of late even though they have been extremely busy this year. Here's what the carp team had to say:

"Despite an increased number of personnel being deployed to operations around the world, alongside assisting with Olympics security, the RAF Carp Angling Team has still seen good turnouts to all their events during 2012. These pair’s events have been held on various venues throughout the UK, with notable results being seen.  At Barston Lake, Mark Jarvis & Glenn Beardsall had a busy time taking 1308Ib in a 48hr period, breaking the lake record in the process.  From Cromwell lakes, to Walthamstow reservoirs, to Yateley South Lake the team has managed to put a number of carp on the bank, with fish in excess of 40Ib caught, with many PB’s broken. 

With the pair’s events done, it was time for the RAF Championships, which this year was held on the TWA Walthamstow 2/3 reservoirs. In what turned out to be a very even event it was Mark Jarvis who eventually came out on top, catching consistently throughout, with Lee Hasbury second & Jason Verney a close third.

So despite losing the Inter-Service title and the added pressure of operations alongside the Olympics it has been another good year for the team.  Massive thanks must go to our sponsors and supporters, namely Fox International, Mainline Baits & Angling Publications, for which their continued support is greatly appreciated by all the members."
