Spring Action for Mainline Carpers!

Our extensive team of Field-Testers and supporting carpers have been enjoying some great action thoughout the spring period, reporting some fantastic Mainline captures of late!

Cornish carper, Richard Turvey, has somehow managed to put some recent job security worries to the back of his mind to focus on a couple of contrasting waters. Firstly with a visit to an Oxfordshire syndicate some 250 miles from home, where he's consistently banked some stunning carp on NEW GRANGE boilies, both in testing and since the release of our latest bait.

Fishing two of his favoured presentations, either snowman rigs tipped with 10mm Hi-Vis Pineapple pop-ups over cleaner, gravel spots and Chod rigs in areas of light weed armed with Milky Toffee, Mini Dumbell pop-ups, Rich accounted for a number of good carp including one of his targets, and one of venues oldest warriors 'The Leather' at 32lbs 12ozs!

Next on the list of targets was a large common residing in Cornish pit, closer to home where Rich made short work of catching the lakes biggie at 36lbs 8ozs! A great start to the season for Richard Turvey!

Shrewsbury Angler, Nick Harrison has also been in touch following an unbelievable session fishing another Oxfordshire water, Unity lake, part of the Richworth fishery’s Guys Lake syndicate. Using one of our baits currently on test Nick landed a total of seven fish including three of the water’s biggest residents over a recent 4-night session.

Fishing to a weed bed at around 70yards, Nick baiting with a couple of kilos of boilies and topping up after every fish. The tactics certainly worked, with a new English mirror personal best coming in the morning with a fish known as Moonscale at 43lb – it’s weight also setting a new lake mirror carp record. Just 6hours later his alarms were screaming again, this time with an English common personal best of 43lb 15oz, with the lake’s biggest ghost carp, Appollo, following not long after at 38lb 14oz!

"Two forties in one session and two new PBs is just unbelievable,” continued Nick. “I’d been after the big common for a while, but to have it and a 40lb mirror just 6hours apart was something else.”
